Medical products
are divided in to the following categories:
•Devices – these are products that are used for diagnostic
or therapeutic purposes
•Equipment – these are products that assist clinicians in hospital, emergency
of in-home settings for diagnosis, drug delivery, etc.
Medical device is a field regulated by government agencies.
Although the concept is international, the definition of the term Medical
Device varies by each country, or regulatory body.
In general, medical devices have the following groupings:
1) Implantable
2) Wearable
3) External
